Pest Control Companies

When you have a problem with pests in your space the first person you want to call is the pest control technician. But you must have heard this by now: Not all pest control companies are equal. This is true and here are a few things that determine the caliber of professionalism
• The employees
• The equipment
• The expertise
• The business values and principles
This four focal points differentiate the companies because the better they are the more reliable the services of the company are.
What to expect
The employees
The staff that come to conduct pest control must be knowledgeable about how to handle the pesticide and insecticide they are entrusted with. This is regardless of whether the house only has adults or hs kids and pets as well because poisonous substances do not discriminate.
You should expect to see protective gear like gloves, coveralls, gumboots and masks. They should also be able to advice whether you need to vacate the premises or not. For example, when using diatomaceous earth one would expect the technician to tell you it is safe. However, if they are using pool grade diatomaceous earth they must make you aware that it is not safe for human and pet consumption and recommend that you remove yourself from the environment for a while.
The equipment
There are three things to look out for when it comes to equipment: the right tools for the job, working tools and modern tools. Note that we didn’t say expensive tools because expensive doesn’t always translate to efficient. The company should provide the right tools for the job with a trained operator to avoid instances of injuries for yourself or the technician. You should also expect tools that can work the space efficiently within a reasonable amount of time which means they have to be modern tools. Outdate tools take too long to accomplish tasks and if you are being charged per hour this could be a gimmick to make more money.
The expertise
You should be expecting well trained, knowledgeable crew members who can diagnose the problem and formulate a plan to eradicate it. This are typically people who have experience with pest control so this is not their first rodeo. Interns and trainees should wear tags and work with an experience crew member to minimize chances of injury.
Their expertise should also be apparent in the way they handle the equipment. Red flags include not knowing how to turn the equipment on, referring to manuals for instructions and negligent behavior when dealing with sharp or pointed ends.
The principles and values
This is a very important aspect to look for in the company you choose to conduct pest control in your space. First and foremost they should have courtesy and impeccable work ethics meaning they show to work on time and address the client respectfully. Also, make sure the crew members coming to your home have been vetted by the company. You can find out this information by asking the company and in some cases have them sign documents reflecting the same.
Finally make sure the company has no shifting goal posts like wanting to work at night instead of during the day or price hikes because of weather et cetera.
